Trio Cavatina w/ Samuel Rhodes, viola
Formed in 2005 at the Marlboro Music Festival, Trio Cavatina consists of three elegant players—violinist Harumi Rhodes, cellist Priscilla Lee, and pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute. Stars in their own right, they have quickly emerged as one of today's top piano trios. The Philadelphia Inquirer hails each player’s ability to “make a compelling argument—Lee with her probing phrasing, violinist Rhodes in some charismatic moments of triumph, and Jokubaviciute with a big personality communicated through a sound of great refinement and presence.” Longtime Juilliard Quartet violist Samuel Rhodes joins the Trio for this Sunday afternoon performance that includes piano quartets by Mozart and Brahms.
